‘Breathe – Blessings – Give’

WATCH JOHN’S VIDEO HERE

I’m not a fan of festive wishing. To me it’s lost its meaning. This time of the year should be more about reflecting and spending quality time with your loved ones; escape the rat race for a while and remember to breathe and embrace the future.

We could say today that the world feels like it’s engaged in a whirlpool of change. Just in December we’ve been bombarded with Brexit, Volcanoes, Bushfires, Hong Kong riots and more effects of global warming.

I embrace Change. I feel, as Custodians, we all embrace the positives of change and what it brings. I know many don’t and they have been struggling. Just in the last 3 months 3 people I know have taken their own lives and many more close friends have confided they aren’t coping very well. There’s nothing normal about those numbers.

So rather than Merry Christmas and all the best I wanted to say Breathe – Be grateful – & Reach Out. I can only reinforce some habits that we can all use and share:

  1. Breathe

At Toogoolawa School we start every day by sitting still and focusing on our breathing. As we breathe in we breathe in Love, as we Breathe out we let go of Fear and Anxiety. Take 6 seconds per cycle and do it 50 times and you’ve just slowed your breathing by half. Slow the breathing, slow the mind.

  1. Blessings

A blessing is a very old saying that means ‘positive thoughts’. The best way for us to have positive thoughts is to practice Gratitude. We are so much better off than so many others. Focus on the amazing blessings you have and have had, rather than what you don’t have or worse what you are scared of losing. Like the saying ‘I used to complain I had no shoes until I met a man with no feet’.

  1.  Give.

Reach out to someone and help them in some way. Make sure it’s a random act, with no possibility nor expectation of a benefit to you. Who you ask? Don’t worry; just put it in your mind and the universe will provide.

So yes all the best for the Roaring 20’s. To be honest I’ve never been more excited and have even moved my travel to do a live kickstart webinar earlier next year – on the 8th, 9th and 11th of January 2020.
