It’s important to stimulate your brain with new positive learning. A book club is a great way to do that.

I’m an avid reader and I belong to 2 book clubs. It’s probably not so much a club as a group of individuals with common interests. We read, we share, we discuss, we agree, we disagree. It’s good fun, but more importantly it keeps your intellect fuelled.

The first book club I joined was with Ron & Su Farmer from Toogoolawa, and now Gerry the headmaster. This Club has been going for 25 years.
We read spiritual books generally by authors that have committed their lives to the spiritual path, whether it be Yoga, meditation or religion. It’s a really unique take on life.

My all-time favourites are:

  • The second book club I am part of is related to business, or motivation within a business context. A handful of employees at Custodian regularly take part in the book club and discussions, we even have some clients and business associates who have joined the movement.

I strongly recommend the following reads:

    1. Elon Musk by Ashley Vance
    2. Shoe dogs by Phil Knight

A book club is a great way for us to learn and share. It also stimulates our mind and, as a result, keeps us focused and positive. You are able to take a step back and look at situations with a different eye.

What was your recent best read?
