About Jon
“I’ve spent most of my career either feeding Australians or putting them on holidays! Like John, I believe we all have a responsibility to be Custodians of this country and be all we can be in retirement. Helping Australians set themselves up for financial freedom, while providing homes for families in need, is the best way to use my God-given talents. I love Custodian’s 25-year pedigree and truly believe that every interaction I have with clients is making a difference.”
Joined Custodian October 2022
Jon is a family man. He became a Custodian after reading the 7 Steps to Wealth book he had been given as a gift. Jon was inspired by John’s philosophy and track record of taking responsibility for our financial future.
His career has taken him through various industries, starting at the age of 18, when he became the youngest Produce Manager for Coles in Victoria. He was then headhunted by Woolworths and joined their Produce buying team at 20. Woolworths then put him on the Store manager training program where he was fast-tracked for leadership. Throughout his career, Jon’s roles have been leadership from that point onwards: site leadership, corporate portfolio leadership and multi-site leadership. Jon has spent the last 20 years leading teams in the resort industry with Wyndham and Marriott Hotels.
When it comes to property, Jon and his wife started investing in real estate in Melbourne in 1997; they have bought and sold a dozen properties since then and are currently in the top 1% of Australian property investors, with our portfolio in Queensland. Jon and his wife decided early on that they wanted to be financially independent in retirement and wanted to teach their four children the importance of doing the same. Their son has just started his journey in property.
What does Jon do for fun?
Jon loves to travel and has been with his wife and four children to some very remote areas in Australia. They even took a year off and traveled through more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia, and the USA. Jon has been riding big-bore motorcycles for more than 30 years; his current bike is a 1400 Ninja.
Amongst other things, Jon is also a pilot and started flying at Moorabbin in 1997; one of the highlights was a recent flight with his son and daughter, watching whales and dolphins off Cape Byron.
